A Few Words From Our Staff
Irene
Store Manager – Mill Valley

GE: What brought you to GE?
I: Even in my early 20s, I knew I wanted to work in natural foods. I spent years working for large corporations, and it always felt like something was missing. The first time I walked into Middle Earth in Fairfax, I loved that I could feel that connection with food again.
GE: Is there anything you’d like to share with our customers?
I: I really appreciate how passionate and loyal our customers are. I want our stores to be community spaces, and it’s been so much fun getting to know our customers and watching their families grow.

GE: What sparked your passion for organic?
M: I’ve worked in natural foods stores for a long time now. When I first got into the industry, I was just looking for a job. As I begin to learn more about our food system, I became more and more convinced that organic was the right way to do things. Over time, it’s become a part of who I am, and my values.
GE: Is there anything you’d like to share with our customers?
M: I’m always so impressed with the knowledge our customers have around organic issues, and how passionate they are about sharing this knowledge. It’s awesome to watch the next generation of this community grow up with such a deep understanding of why organic is important.

GE: What’s your favorite GE memory?
A: I’d have to say opening day of our current Fairfax location on Center Blvd. It was 2012, and I remember looking out at a crowd of a few hundred people. You could feel this intensity, a fervor for organic food coming from the community. I couldn’t believe the passion!
GE: Is there anything you’d like to share with our customers?
A: It’s always been a challenge for me to find words to describe how amazing our customers are. What I’ve been able to come up with is that we have the most remarkable customers a store could ask for. Their commitment to making responsible food choices is inspiring, and I’m glad we can be a part of it.

GE: What brought you to GE?
P: When I was a little girl, one of our family members owned a piece of land, and every week they would bring us deliveries of fresh produce and milk. I remember the taste of the food; it was so clean and pure. As I got older, I didn’t like the direction the food industry was headed. I wanted to raise my family with the same healthy food I had as a girl.
GE: Is there anything you’d like to share with our customers?
P: I’m so grateful for the trust our customers have given us. It’s really an honor to serve this community.
